About the Assistant Campus Pastor
The Assistant Campus Pastor is a full-time role that supports the Dublin Campus Pastor by helping lead the day-to-day ministry and operational life of the campus. This role develops Difference Makers, ensures weekend and ministry environments run smoothly, and helps create a healthy, welcoming campus where people can take next steps in following Jesus. The role blends pastoral leadership, volunteer development, and operational coordination to strengthen the overall health of the Dublin campus.
The specific responsibilities will be shaped, in part, by the unique gifts and experiences of the person called to the role.
- Partner closely with the Campus Pastor to carry the vision, culture, and communication to the campus.
- Help lead staff and key Difference Makers through meetings, huddles, and follow-up.
- Step into leadership responsibilities when the Campus Pastor is unavailable.
- Provide relational care, connection, prayer, and follow-up for attenders and leaders.
- Help keep campus details organized so weekends and ministry environments run smoothly.
- Ensure Difference Maker teams are prepared, scheduled, and supported each weekend.
- Support baptisms, Next Steps, and help people take meaningful next steps in their spiritual development.
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and developing Difference Makers across campus teams.
- Coach team leaders to build healthy, multiplying teams.
- Encourage ownership, care, and follow-through within teams.
- Partner with Central teams to implement church-wide processes at the campus.
- Attend campus meetings with the Campus Pastor and monthly all‑staff meetings.
- Provide a weekly report following weekend services.
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Assistant Campus Pastor:
Education and Experience- 3 to 10 years of ministry experience (leaning towards a younger candidate on the upswing).
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced, multi‑site church environment.
- A High School diploma is the minimum education requirement; no seminary degree or ordination is required. A college degree is preferred.
- Able to recruit, develop, and care for Difference Makers and team leaders.
- Builds healthy teams and helps others take steps in leadership.
- Organized, dependable, and follows through on responsibilities.
- Communicates clearly and works well with staff, Difference Makers, and attenders.
- Able to balance pastoral care, ministry leadership, and day‑to‑day operations.
- Has a clear and growing relationship with Jesus and lives in alignment with the mission and values of Cypress.
- Positive, teachable, and willing to serve wherever needed.
