Controls Manager, Data Center BMS​/EPMS Operations

The Controls Deployment and Service team seeks a Controls Manager to lead the building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS) deployment and service in Amazon data centers. This role involves managing a highly technical team, driving system design and implementation, and aligning building controls and automation with overall business objectives.

• Manage onsite engineering team in Ohio.
• Travel up to 30% domestically.
• Implement and track team goals; report progress of ongoing projects to leadership.
• Participate in interview and hiring processes.
• Develop launch plans for new hires and identify team needs.
• Oversee installation, programming, and troubleshooting of BMS/EPMS.
• Ascertain customer needs to develop project scope and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to Controls and partner teams as necessary.

• 3+ years in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent plus 8+ years of relevant controls experience, OR 12+ years of controls experience in lieu of a degree.
• 4+ years of experience managing large, complex control projects involving mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
• 3+ years of experience hiring, promoting, coaching, and developing teams of technical professionals.

• 6+ years in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems critical to data center operations, such as feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS, ATS, PDU, chillers, pumps, air‑handling units, and CRAC units.
• 6+ years directly managing, mentoring, and coaching controls professionals.
• 8+ years of project management and vendor management experience.
• 3+ years of experience in data center system‑level architecture and electrical engineering principles.
• 3+ years of experience in data center system‑level architecture and mechanical engineering principles.

Salary range: USD  –  annually (location: USA, OH, Dublin). Your package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
