Environmental, Health & Safety Professional - Dallas/Austin/San Antonio TX Region

Position: EH&S Professional

Report to: Sr. EH&S Manager

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000

The successful candidate will coordinate with members of the EH&S department, Project Management and Field Operations personnel. The EH&S Professional will be responsible for the following duties as indicated below, subject to change with or without notice.

Responsibilities
  • Regularly travel to regional offices and job sites and conduct on-site inspections to evaluate safe work practices, physical conditions and environmental practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Kwest Group and site‑specific client environmental and safety procedures. Communicate and submit all findings via report to project managers, audited team members, and senior leadership in a timely manner.
  • Identify and evaluate environmental conditions and practices in the workplace.
  • Develop controls for identified conditions and hazards.
  • Coordinate the implementation of controls from results of environmental and safety analyses.
  • Help with the development, completion, submission, and implementation of Project Specific Safety Plans (PSSP’s).
  • Evaluate safety equipment, statistics, or site‑specific needs for new projects and maintain inventory of PPE and safety supplies.
  • Issue stops work orders on projects that are found to have safety deficiencies.
  • To act as the Kwest Group representative to the client, subcontractors, and suppliers during the life of the project, under the direction of the assigned supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and good working relationships with customers, team members, and the public.
  • Perform all duties consistent with the Company Mission Statement and the "Kwest Group" philosophy.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or an associate degree in environmental science, safety or related field is preferred.
  • OSHA 500 preferred.
  • Competent experience with Excavations, Confined Spaces, Rigging, and Fall protection preferred.
  • Root Cause Analysis experience/training preferred.
  • CHST preferred.
  • Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred to effectively communicate safety information and discuss incidents with English and Spanish speaking employees and subcontractors as needed.
  • Prior experience performing SWPPP and/or other environmental related duties in civil construction, industrial, engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience performing safety duties in civil construction, industrial, engineering, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritize projects, completing complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
  • Out‑of‑town travel as required, up to 50‑70%.
  • Work approximately 50 – 55 hours per week.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Authority
  • To issue stop work orders on projects which are found to have EH&S deficiencies.
  • To act as the Kwest Group representative to the client, subcontractors, and suppliers during the life of the project, under the direction of the assigned supervisor.
  • To request assistance from other Kwest Group personnel as needed.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the team member may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
  • Travel from site to site will be required.
  • Work environment will normally be an active construction site. Exposure to dust, noise, high heat, extreme cold, and rain should be expected.
  • Team member must be physically able to perform repetitive motion and heavy lifting, as described below.
  • Must be able to maintain effective audio and visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must wear all employer‑mandated personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vests, and safety‑toed work boots. Other PPE may be required…
