Pipeline Project Engineer – Columbus, OH

Kleinfelder, a Forbes® Top Employer for Engineers in North America, invites experienced engineers to join our Columbus, OH office. The role involves developing and managing natural gas pipeline projects, from design to construction.

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• 6–10 years of relevant experience
• PE preferred
• Proficiency in CAD, GIS, MS Office, and project management tools
• Knowledge of code of federal regulations Title 42 Part 192
• Valid driver’s license
• Utility business understanding

• Prepare pipeline designs, calculations, drawings, studies, and documentation.
• Review designs for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and criteria.
• Acquire and analyze data using appropriate quantitative methods.
• Conduct gas system network and hydraulic analysis.
• Prepare construction specifications and bid packages.
• Select pipe materials and conduct feasibility studies.
• Develop status reports addressing task completion, progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Collaborate with client teams and Kleinfelder offices.
• Coordinate inspection, testing, data analysis, and findings reporting.
• Manage internal resources, subcontractors, drafting, and administrative staff.
• Demonstrate sound engineering judgment and guide junior personnel.
• Assist in determining schedule and budget requirements.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives.
