Position: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Gentle Psych is a clinician-led outpatient psychiatry practice dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized, and holistic mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults throughout the Columbus area. Founded and led by a practicing Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Gentle Psych was built on the belief that excellent patient care begins with a supportive and sustainable environment for clinicians.

Our approach integrates evidence-based psychiatric treatment with a thoughtful, whole-person perspective that considers each patient’s emotional, medical, and environmental needs. We strive to create a calm, respectful setting where patients feel genuinely cared for and clinicians are able to practice in a way that is both thorough and sustainable.

We offer comprehensive outpatient psychiatric services including in-person and telepsychiatry, medication management, and collaboration with an experienced in-house therapy team. Gentle Psych prioritizes continuity of care, clinical excellence, and a professional, collaborative culture where both patients and providers feel supported.

We are growing thoughtfully and seeking clinicians who value high-quality care, professionalism, and a positive team environment.

Role Description

This is a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) role based in Dublin, Ohio, with a flexible hybrid schedule combining in-person and telepsychiatry services. This role includes integration of brief supportive psychotherapy and psychoeducation within routine medication management visits when clinically appropriate.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining timely and accurate documentation, collaborating with therapists and team members, and contributing to a respectful and supportive environment that prioritizes both patient care and clinician sustainability.

Gentle Psych maintains a consistent referral base and established patient demand, allowing for a quickly filled and stable schedule.

Qualifications
  • Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio NP license with prescriptive authority and DEA

  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based psychiatric treatment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-centered care skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a supportive team environment
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation

Preferred:

  • 1+ years of outpatient psychiatric experience
  • Experience treating children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan
  • Comfort integrating brief psychotherapy interventions into medication management visits
  • Interest in building a consistent long-term outpatient panel within a growing practice
  • Desire for a stable, collaborative, and professional work environment
Compensation

This is a W-2, productivity-based (pay-for-service) position. Compensation is determined by service type and completed visits, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy add-on services.

Established patient demand supports consistent scheduling and strong earning potential. A typical full-time PMHNP can expect to earn $140,000+ annually
, with higher earning potential based on productivity and schedule.

Additional benefits and structure will be discussed with selected candidates based on role and schedule.

Gentle Psych is seeking a dependable, kind, and clinically strong provider who is interested in a long-term professional home within a supportive and growing practice.
