Medical Laboratory Technologist
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team for the 2nd shift from 2PM-10PM. This role involves performing medical laboratory testing on patient samples, including routine and complex technical procedures and functions. The ideal candidate will be skilled in phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, machine calibration, troubleshooting, and documentation. You will occasionally communicate with parents to deliver test results.
Responsibilities
- Perform medical laboratory testing on patient samples.
- Conduct routine and complex technical procedures and functions in the laboratory information system.
- Carry out phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing of patient samples.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory machines.
- Document procedures and follow appropriate regulations.
- Communicate with parents to deliver test results occasionally.
Essential Skills
- 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Knowledge in Chemistry, Biology, Medical laboratory practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable performing phlebotomy on children.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associates in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) OR Bachelors in Medical Lab Science (MLS).
- Regular science degrees require 1 year of lab experience.
- Bench laboratory experience.
- ASCP certification is not required but this role is a great start for someone interested in getting ASCP certification.
Work Environment
The work environment is a laboratory setting during the 2nd shift from 2PM-10PM. The majority of patients are children, and the role requires comfort with phlebotomy on children. The lab is equipped with the latest technologies for specimen collection, processing, and machine calibration.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.86 - $32.86/hr.
