The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of the experience provided to our patients.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations or the manager of the assigned building, with competency development and training by the Manager of Ambulatory Rehabilitation, the Mobility Aide Coordinator is a team member responsible for assisting patients navigating our various Outpatient care centers safely. The Mobility Aide Lead plans, organizes, manages and evaluates mobility aide activities; plans and develops goals and processes to enhance and improve the operations of the department to support the Medical Center’s mission, vision and values;
evaluates and identifies achievements and problems in meeting goals; supervises, assists with hiring, training and evaluates the work performance of mobility aide staff; promotes and ensures ongoing collaboration with other departments and areas that relate directly or indirectly to mobility aide operations and services; under the direction of the building leadership, develops, administers the mobility aide schedules; identifies opportunities for improvement in mobility aide processes.
The Mobility Aide staff will work to assist patients requiring transportation or ambulatory assistance within and throughout the assigned building for scheduled appointments. The Mobility Aide will coordinate with all patient care practices, central registration and customer service teams within the assigned building.
- Associate's Degree in Healthcare or a related field.
- 1 year of relevant experience required.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Within 3 months of hire obtains American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Meet minimum demonstration of competency for patient transfers and transportation. Meets mandatory education and health requirements. Demonstrates competency interpersonal/interdepartmental relations, and cognitive skills to meet essential job functions. Maintain current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
