Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Billing Coordinator to join our team in Columbus, OH. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment and takes pride in accuracy, follow-through, and financial integrity.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate billing, timely payment processing, and effective communication with insurance providers and patients.
Key Responsibilities Billing & Collections- Log payments from insurance companies and patients, maintaining accurate financial records
- Submit insurance claims and process billing data efficiently
- Verify insurance benefits for new and existing clients
- Follow up on delinquent payments and resolve denial instances
- File appeals as needed to ensure proper reimbursement
- Update billing addresses and patient contact information
- Assist with faxing, answering calls, emails, and text communications
- Support general office functions related to billing and patient accounts
- Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or a related field
- Proficiency with:
- Google Suite
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- CMS-1500 claim forms
- Availity platform
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
