Position: Anesthesia Specialist at OhioHealth Dublin, OH

Anesthesia Specialist – Ohio Health, Dublin, OH. Our mission is to provide comprehensive anesthesia care and support within a collaborative surgical environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Supports and maintains anesthesia department equipment and supplies in each operating room on a case‑by‑case basis (45%–60% of work).
  • Troubleshoots anesthesia‑related equipment and performs repairs according to expertise.
  • Calibrates monitors per unit protocol.
  • Assists in the transfer of patients from OR table to patient cart and transports patients to the OR.
  • Assists in case turnover by gathering, checking, organizing dispensing and/or processing equipment, gas cylinders, supplies, and instruments; opens sterile supplies.
  • Preceptors new OR Assistants as needed.
  • Assists with OR readiness through patient transportation, positioning, room preparation and positioning for procedure.
  • Acts as a second assistant to the surgeon, performing draping, operative site exposure, and video assistance.
  • Performs non‑nursing tasks such as cleaning, running errands, stocking, and maintenance to support patient care.
  • Identifies and evaluates anesthesia supplies and equipment, collaborating with Medical Director and supply chain manager to determine par levels and manage back‑orders.
  • Orders supplies from supply chain manager and outside vendors.
  • Explores cost‑effective alternatives and communicates budget variances.
  • Prepares anesthesia orders, stocks drugs/supplies in each OR daily, and cleans/sets up instrument trays.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED (Required).
  • Computer knowledge facilitating troubleshooting and repairing anesthesia equipment within scope.
  • Knowledge of surgical environment, inventory control, basic indications of anesthesia drugs, equipment use, and suppliers.
  • Two (2) years of recent progressive perioperative experience with similar responsibilities.
Work Shift

Evening shift – Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Department:
Surgery Main.
