Scope/Position SummaryThis position functions to coordinate all aspects of patients' pharmaceutical needs in OSUMC outpatient and retail areas.
- medication order approval and distribution
- assurance of appropriate dose, route, frequency and duration of therapy
- patient medication profile review for drug-drug interactions, duplication of therapy, drug allergy interactions and appropriate regimens
- patient counseling
- disease state management
- coordination of patients' pharmaceutical needs with physicians and nurses
- must be able to demonstrate medication dosing and identify pharmaceutical needs relative to the disease process and age
- must be able to effectively communicate with patients, other health care professionals, and insurance companies
- responsible for supervising technicians, undergraduate and graduate student teaching, and providing educational programs for hospital/clinic staff (physicians, nurses and pharmacy staff)
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
- Registered Pharmacist
- 0 years of relevant experience required
- 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred
