What you will do in this role:

  • Observe and maintain a safe milieu through patient checks, safety monitoring, including 15-minute checks, contraband monitoring, condition evaluation, and providing line of sight or one-on-one care as directed.
  • Follow delegated tasks from the RN, such as vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring.
  • Demonstrate effective milieu management skills to promote positive patient experiences.
  • Assist patients with off-unit activities like meals, breaks, visits, and appointments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Experience in psychiatric healthcare, especially with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients, preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, favorable MVR, and proof of insurance required when using personal or hospital vehicles.
  • CPR certification and CPI training within 30 days of employment and before patient contact.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
