Job Description & How to Apply Below

The AI Product Manager is responsible for translating product strategy into execution-ready work while driving product delivery, adoption, and measurable business outcomes for assigned Northwoods products and services. This role is explicitly AI‑native: candidates must bring day‑one experience leveraging AI across the full product lifecycle—from discovery, research, and requirements through delivery, validation, launch, and optimization—to improve speed, quality, decision‑making, and customer value.

Working in close partnership with Lead Product Managers, Engineering, Design, QA, Delivery, and Commercial teams, this role bridges product vision and execution while modeling and advancing AI adoption across the team. The Product Manager must be fluent in current AI tools, capabilities, limitations, and applicability to the product lifecycle, and must be able to coach others to use AI effectively, responsibly, and consistently in day‑to‑day product work.

As Northwoods expands AI‑enabled capabilities, this role is accountable for identifying, shaping, and operationalizing practical, trustworthy, and explainable AI opportunities across products and internal workflows. Demonstrated ability to evaluate where AI should be applied—and where it should not—while driving adoption with cross‑functional partners is a core requirement of the role.

Experience

Required:

  • 4–7 years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Product Delivery, or related roles within SaaS or technology‑enabled organizations, with demonstrated hands‑on use of AI across the product lifecycle as a core part of day‑to‑day execution.
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with engineering teams in Agile/SCRUM environments, including applying AI tools to accelerate discovery, requirements development, delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong experience with Jira, backlog management, workflow documentation, and release processes.
  • Experience with Figma, product analytics tools, and modern SaaS product workflows, including AI‑enabled product management practices and tools; this experience is strongly preferred and hands‑on AI fluency is required.
  • Experience in government, public sector, Healthcare, Human Services, or enterprise SaaS strongly preferred.
  • Relevant degree preferred (computer science, business, engineering, information systems, design, or related field).
What you’ll be doing

Product Delivery & Execution
  • Translate product strategy, customer insights, and business priorities into execution‑ready work for Engineering teams, using AI‑enabled research, synthesis, and planning tools to improve clarity, speed, and quality across the product lifecycle.
  • Own and maintain healthy product backlogs, ensuring work is clearly prioritized, documented, and aligned with roadmap priorities, including the effective use of AI tools to accelerate backlog refinement, prioritization analysis, and documentation quality.
  • Write and maintain epics, user stories, workflows, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation that enable efficient development and testing, demonstrating strong judgment in using AI to draft, refine, and improve implementation‑ready product requirements.
  • Ensure sprint readiness by proactively clarifying requirements, identifying dependencies, and resolving ambiguity before development begins.
  • Partner with Engineering to balance scope, quality, timelines, and technical feasibility throughout development.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning as needed.
Product Validation & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with Lead Product Managers to validate concepts, requirements, workflows, and business assumptions before development begins, including evaluating where AI can materially improve the customer experience, team efficiency, or product outcomes.
  • Participate in customer interviews, workflow observations, usability sessions, and product demonstrations to understand real‑world needs and pain points, and use AI tools to synthesize findings into clear opportunities, risks, and recommendations.
  • Gather feedback before, during, and after releases to inform iteration and…
