The Director will be responsible for driving revenue growth for our Passenger Vehicle services portfolio by engaging CXOs to generate large deals and expand business with both existing and new customers.

Become a trusted advisor, cross and upsell across Software Defined Vehicles, Electrification, Battery Management, Digital Engineering, Simulation, Prototyping, and Automotive Cybersecurity. This high-visibility, strategic role requires deep expertise in emerging domain areas and the ability to build lasting client partnerships that shape future mobility and deliver business impact.

The role is responsible for working in tandem with the various Sales Teams and Service Lines of IOT DE business unit to contextualize the solutions for the business. The role reports into the IOTDE Head. The role is strategic in nature, with high visibility and responsibility.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for meeting the Revenue, Pipeline, and TCV goals in the segment. The role therefore entails
    • Engage with the CXO leadership in key accounts to build long term relationships and identify opportunities ahead of formal bidding, shaping these opportunities
    • Build a case for action and help obtain buy‑in from executive sponsors of the mission, vision, and strategy
    • Position our Industry Solutions / Services with clients in the context of their business challenges from an entrepreneurial and holistic perspective with innovative ideas
    • Engage with different sales and pre‑sales teams of TCS to articulate comprehensive solutions and support the development of sales pitches based on client needs, industry trends, and best practices
  • Develop account‑centric growth plans aligned to clients’ strategies
    • Provide oversight to large / strategic transformative engagements, participate in steering committees, and address issues and challenges in delivery, execution, and support (advisory/partner role as needed)
    • Work with the larger delivery unit to shape customer relationships and define strategies for growth
  • Understand market trends and define market strategies
    • Co‑ordinate with external partners to define product leverage for client needs and connect with local boutique partners and firms for niche solutions
    • Position the Unit and its services in the market during engagements with analysts, business partners, product vendors, events, and seminars
  • Covering the markets in US, UK, Europe and LATAM
KPI
  • Metrics (Top Line Growth) in line with the AOP
  • Pipeline development and TCV (Total Contract Value) of deals closed, especially new deals
  • CXO connections established and executive connections made
  • Leverage of partnerships / alliances
Qualifications
  • Graduate in Engineering, preferably postgraduate in Engineering / Management
  • Overall 20+ years covering aspects of P&L business management, program management, business development, and consulting in IoT & digital engineering
  • Experience in firms such as Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, IBM, or HCL in a similar capacity within consulting, IT services, or industry
  • Exposure to India‑based offshore operations
  • Worked on large global opportunities, bids, projects, etc.
  • Rich experience across the vehicle development value chain
  • Consultative sales experience with advisory services at the CX level
  • Held P&L / business development responsibilities with targets
  • Passenger industry experience – electrification, connectivity, ADAS, or strong capabilities in digital product development, embedded software, and telematics
  • IoT / engineering / digital engineering experience in industry or consulting
  • Understanding of key digital technologies, IoT, cloud, AI/ML / Gen AI, AR‑VR, etc., and products that leverage these technologies
Attributes

  • Experience working with distributed teams is highly desired
  • Excellent understanding of working with onsite‑offshore mode
  • Fluent in English and a confident communicator
