Strategic Project Manager
Primary
Purpose:
To develop and manage strategic project assignments through completion; to lead and direct strategic project teams; to communicate results; to make recommendations to management; and to provide training.
- Identify and lead strategic project planning needs, assignments and prioritization, based on improvement opportunities within the business unit.
- Identify business needs, perform cost/benefit analysis, identify required resources; research strategic project data, procedures, and history for a thorough understanding of project direction.
- Generate and analyze statistical data reports.
- Develop, prepare and manage strategic project plan through completion and act as key stakeholder for the business unit.
- Communicate activity progress to involved parties.
- Coordinate and facilitate strategic project teams; assign responsibilities to team participants and utilize influencing skills to drive results.
- Identify, research, and resolve business challenges, analyze and interpret complex business processes and develop and document new procedures.
- Transition program to management personnel.
- Engage with and present project information to senior leaders to gain approval and funding.
- Develop and provide training to management and colleagues as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the organization's quality program(s).
- Travel as required.
- Administer company personnel policies in all areas and follow company staffing standards and training recommendations.
- Provide support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred. - Experience:
Ten (10) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required, including five (5) years of project management, claims operation management, managed care, insurance-related and/or statistical analysis experience. - Skills & Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of project management and protocol. - Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
- Analytical and interpretive skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to meet or exceed performance expectations.

Computer keyboarding, travel as required.
