Position DetailsFull‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Grade 207 Exempt. Salary range: $63,000 - $73,000.
DescriptionThe Director of Relationship Events is responsible for the implementation of the Evening of Impact Gala in Columbus, Ohio and its wrap‑around event(s) to meet or exceed the budgeted goals through volunteer recruitment and engagement as well as through corporate development. This position will oversee the Gala event and assist with the growth and management of other development initiatives, per the discretion of the Director of Development.
Measurable outcomes include driving volunteer and corporate engagement and revenue growth as identified in the strategic plan. The role reports to the Central Ohio Chapter’s Director of Development.
- Oversee all aspects of the Evening of Impact Gala and wrap‑around event(s), including event production and additional Gala wrap‑around events.
- Recruit, train, coach, manage, and support volunteer committees at a high level, achieving revenue and volunteer engagement goals.
- Build relationships with key volunteers, participants, sponsors, community leaders, and corporate partners.
- Manage all financial aspects of sponsor and donor fulfillment.
- Prospect, cultivate, and steward Gala sponsors and donors to achieve development goals through volunteer networks.
- Maintain year‑round relationships and support key corporate sponsors, donors, and volunteers to ensure involvement in chapter activities and recognition opportunities.
- Collaborate with the volunteer planning committee to organize outreach activities that promote the Alzheimer’s Association mission, including community presentations and corporate engagement opportunities.
- Ensure Alzheimer’s Association standards are followed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Participate actively in learning opportunities for professional growth and self‑improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of proven experience in corporate fundraising and relationship building, recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals.
- Demonstrated ability to form and develop relationships and partnerships.
- 3–5 years of experience in galas/special events with proven success; special event fundraising or related activities; strong volunteer management experience essential.
- Goal‑driven and detail‑oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
- Adaptive and flexible, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and demands.
- Initiative‑seeking and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% by car; travel time counts as away from office, in the community, to fulfill job goals.
- Travel may include same‑day, occasional overnight, or air travel; must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs of materials.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and social media; experience with or ability to rapidly learn Luminate/Convio software.
