Position Details

Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift

Assignment Duration: 13‑week contract position.

Schedule:

Night Shift, 3x12.0 hours.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orients staff.

Responsibilities
  • Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Identifies teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses.
  • Provides timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
  • Documents all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
  • Participates in the patient rehabilitation program on the assigned unit.
  • Utilizes nursing processes to deliver direct patient care.
  • Initiates discharge planning and patient education from admission day.
  • Communicates changes in patient status effectively to care providers.
  • Supervises and trains ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Contributes positively to unit functioning and team dynamics.
  • Maintains communication regarding service needs with managers and senior staff.
  • Assumes charge responsibility as requested post-orientation.
  • Actively seeks professional growth and development opportunities.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
  • Must have EPIC experience.
