ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of a Physician or Lead Physician, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant collaborates with physicians to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and evaluation of patients in an outpatient clinic setting. The role supports four different clinics across the city to enhance patient access.
- Perform history and physical examinations on new and repeat patients; establish presumptive diagnosis; order appropriate laboratory studies and testing.
- Collaborate with physicians to formulate treatment plans and follow‑up care.
- Conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develop patient care plans within clinical nursing practice and medical care protocols; review patient medications.
- Evaluate outcomes of care delivered to patients and initiate changes in the nursing approach accordingly.
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- NP – current Ohio Registered Nursing License.
- Master’s degree in nursing with successful completion of an acceptable Nurse Practitioner education program, or a Physician Assistant Program.
- Certification to include Prescriptive Authority.
- Knowledge of triage procedures and clinic or urgent care experience.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for medication administration and patient care aids.
- Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients or families about disease and care instructions.
- Strong communication skills, high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Poise, tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
- Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
Preferred:
Experience in Pediatrics.
