Howyou'll contribute
The Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) in implementing and directing all nursing services. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, administration, nursing staff, and other departments to achieve the hospital's goals and objectives. The Nurse Manager collaborates with the DON in planning, organizing, and directing the delivery of quality general and psychiatric nursing care consistent with the facility's goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
Duties include staffing, training and development, revision of nursing policies and procedures, standards of performance, and communication regarding nursing issues to medical staff, department director's and administration. Participate in departmental and team meetings to discuss patient care and develop treatment plans. Manage Scheduling and Staffing for the nursing department, ensure coverage, minimize overtime and agency use, and approve or deny time-off request.
- Collaborates with DON on maintaining a high level of service and quality nursing care.
- Collaborates with other departments such as Intake and Clinical Services to ensure an efficient and effective flow of information regarding patient care between the departments.
- Partners with the DON to routinely review job assignments and utilization of staff to ensure that programs are staffed with the appropriate resources to ensure safe, high quality nursing care.
- Analyzes statistical data on inpatient programs to determine and respond to trends.
- Collaborates with DON and People Services for staff recruitment and retention.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Associate's degree in nursing required.
- Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations in which the facility operates.
- 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
- CPR certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
- De-escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
