Staff Nurse - Med Surg, Nights

Job Description Summary

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365.

The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing, delegates tasks to LPNs and UAPs, and delivers professional nursing care services according to department policies and nursing care standards. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.

• Assessment/Diagnosis (30%):
  Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments for the population and/or individual.
• Outcomes Identification/Planning (30%):
  Documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems.
• Implementation/Evaluation (20%):
  Evaluates and documents response to interventions and achievement of outcomes, revising the plan of care as needed.
• Leadership (10%):
  Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Operations (10%):
  Performs other operational duties as required.
• High Reliability Organization:
  Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio or good standing with a multi‑state RN compact.
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support, American Heart Association).
• BSN required at 5 years of employment.
