American Traveler is seeking a Psychiatric RN for a behavioral health night shift position requiring 2+ years of psych nursing experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

• Behavioral health unit within a 72-bed facility caring for adult patients
• Common diagnoses include alcohol and drug addiction, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and schizophrenia
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule includes 4 weekday shifts and 2 weekend shifts per two-week period with every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• No call requirements
• Uses HCS and Pyxis systems along with paper charting

• Active RN license (OH or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Handle With Care (HWC) certification required
• Minimum 2+ years of psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• Experience with COWS and CIWA assessments required
• Experience responding to Code Blue and violent patient situations required
• Skilled in admissions, discharges, and shift assessments
• Experience with emergency and routine medication administration required

• Responsibilities include patient admissions, discharges, shift assessments, and medication administration
• Must demonstrate strong de-escalation skills and respond effectively to Code Blue and violent incidents
• Team-oriented environment requiring attention to detail and a hardworking, pleasant demeanor
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs with a shirt or scrub coat underneath; hoods are not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be eligible for travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
