Data Center Security Specialist, CMH-Plain Security

AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team, who will help manage and improve site security operations in our data centers.

• Manage physical security operations, develop post orders, define security procedures, handle site incidents, work with security equipment, participate in construction projects, and drive day-to-day process improvement activities while managing vendors.
• Ensure consistent deployment of security policies and procedures; participate in recurring site audits and reviews and test new security technologies.
• Demonstrate resilient leadership, flexibility to work in a dynamic environment, strong knowledge of security practices, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Review security incidents or operational issues, conduct thorough security system checks (access control, camera operations, alarm panels), and document findings.
• Participate in security team meetings to review metrics, discuss process improvements, and coordinate upcoming projects; update security procedures and required reports; review camera footage and document incidents as needed.
• Manage security-related tickets (badge access requests, vendor escorts, maintenance requests), oversee the security guard force operations, verify SLA compliance, and conduct random post inspections to ensure quality service delivery.
• Maintain effective communication with vendors, contractors, and internal teams; respond to security incidents or alarms and maintain the facility’s security posture.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with security equipment such as intrusion detection devices and access control systems.
• 6+ months of experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment.
• Additional education or training in security-related fields is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of law enforcement, or 8+ years of security-related professional experience.
• 1+ years of team leadership experience.
• College Degree (Bachelor’s) or background in one or more of:
  Military (Career/Military Police/Military Special Operations Forces), Law Enforcement with Arrest Authority (Police Academy Graduate), TSA Security Screening, Correctional Facility Officer.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
