HVAC Equipment Service Chiller Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of commercial HVACR systems.
• Work on light and heavy commercial teams, including centrifugal, steam turbines, and open‑drive screw chillers.
• Provide high‑level service, solve facility inefficiencies, and assist with commissioning and aftermarket service.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, offering recommendations, solutions, and upselling opportunities.
• Prepare and provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

• Willingness or membership in the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry (UAPPI).
• Minimum 3years of commercial/industrial HVAC mechanical troubleshooting experience, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing.
• Experience with mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, vibration equipment, and troubleshooting drive lines.
• Travel up to 20% required to support branch customers.
• Must pass a knowledge examination assessing proficiencies.
• Valid EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and digital communication skills; ability to write and communicate customer problems, causes, and corrective actions.
• Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply on the job; ability to prioritize safety.

• Hourly pay range of $34.45, determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
