**** Position Summary
** The Lifeguard at The Club at Tartan Fields is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all members and guests using the aquatic facilities. This role requires constant vigilance, a strong understanding of water safety procedures, and a commitment to delivering a positive, family-friendly member experience.
** Essential

Duties & Responsibilities
*** Maintain active surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas at all times
* Enforce pool rules and regulations in a professional and courteous manner
* Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including rescues and first aid situations
* Administer CPR, AED, and First Aid when necessary
* Monitor swimmer behavior to prevent unsafe activities
* Perform routine pool safety checks and report any hazards or maintenance concerns
* Maintain accurate incident and accident reports as required
* Assist with opening and closing procedures of the pool facility
* Provide exceptional service and interact positively with members and guests
* Support pool events, swim lessons, and special programs as needed
** Qualifications & Requirements
*** Current Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent)
* Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
* Ability to swim proficiently and perform rescues as required
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations
* Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor
* Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
** Physical Requirements
*** Ability to sit, stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
* Ability to lift, carry, and assist individuals in and out of the pool as needed
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
** Work Environment
*** Outdoor and/or indoor aquatic facilities
* Exposure to water, sun, heat, and pool chemicals
