DescriptionJob Purpose:
- Performs professional, high quality dental care, preventive care, and restorative care to pediatric patients under the age of 15 with maximum concern for client comfort, treatment, and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform oral examinations using x-ray and other special equipment to assess dental health.
- Diagnose and treat dental and oral diseases, ensuring the highest standards of care.
- Execute restorations, extractions, prophylactic, and other dental work as indicated.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of general and pediatric dentistry.
- Utilize electronic dental records and other computer software efficiently for patient management.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to ensure a comfortable and respectful environment for pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in pediatric dentistry to provide cutting-edge treatment options.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations in all dental procedures.
Required
Education:
- Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree, a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, or equivalent degree; graduate from an accredited school of dentistry.
Required Experience:
- At least five years of experience as a general dentist.
- At least two years of experience working with pediatric patients.
Preferred Experience:
- Able to qualify for a faculty appointment with NYU Langone Dental Medicine. Required
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to use electronic dental records and other computer software.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of general and pediatric dentistry.
- Proficiency in performing oral examinations using x-ray and other special equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and treat dental and oral diseases.
- Competency in performing restorations, extractions, prophylactic, and other dental work as indicated.
