Graduate Assistant in Student Life

University of Dubuque is hiring a Graduate Assistant for Student Life for the  term, with potential renewal for , in the work areas of Vocation, Career Services, and Community Engagement & Student Engagement.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Director in the assigned work area to develop and implement programming, activities, initiatives, and special events to engage campus and community.
  • Provide support and guidance for undergraduate students by offering advice and serving as a role model.
  • Assist with advertising and public relations by coordinating social media messaging, designing and distributing marketing materials, and promoting events and activities.
  • Assist with general office support, including greeting guests and visitors, scheduling meetings and appointments, and monitoring office e‑mail accounts.
  • Attend and contribute to regular meetings for your work area and the Student Life division.
  • Attend and support activities and events within all work areas of the Student Life division.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the University’s mission.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; position is conditional on acceptance into the University of Dubuque Masters’ program.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Demonstrated professional behavior and service‑oriented attitude.
  • Self‑motivation and initiative.
  • Interest in a higher education career path preferred.
  • Experience planning or supporting events preferred.
Benefits

All graduate tuition is waived for the term in which the assistant serves as a GA. In return, the assistant agrees to provide service equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
