Community Life Pastor – Job Description
The Community Life Pastor oversees the spiritual formation and disciple‑making strategy of Crossroads Church and leads the engagement of people into community life. This role provides leadership to volunteer community group leaders, study leaders, ministry coaches, and men’s/women’s ministry leaders, while recruiting and training new leaders to support continued growth. The Community Life Pastor models a disciple‑making lifestyle, fosters meaningful community, and ensures adults experience belonging, involvement, and spiritual growth at Crossroads Church.
This position serves under the direction of the Lead Pastor and champions the beliefs, mission, vision, and values of Crossroads Church.
- Champion the spiritual formation and disciple‑making strategy of Crossroads Church.
- Multiply community groups, men’s and women’s groups, Bible/study groups, and adult faith‑formation offerings.
- Recruit, develop, and deploy new leaders to sustain adult discipleship and disciple‑making growth.
- Strengthen the adult discipleship pipeline with effective strategies, tools, and systems.
- Help guests move from Guest to Regular Attender to Partner.
- Create compelling events that encourage engagement (e.g., Group Connect, Journey Weekend, Leadership Training).
- Ensure a seamless handoff from the Connections Ministry to Community Life.
- Build strong relationships with Community Life leaders and the broader Crossroads community.
- Provide consistent coaching, training, and pastoral support.
- Ensure relational connection and follow‑up so no one 'slips through the cracks'.
- Maintain accurate records, systems, and communication processes supporting adult discipleship and community engagement.
- Oversee all adult faith‑formation, discipleship, and disciple‑making strategies, groups, classes, and curriculum.
- Coordinate and refine curriculum such as EQUIP, Deeper Walk Faith Formation, and Topical Classes; introduce new tools as needed.
- Lead at least one co‑ed or men’s community group.
- Mentor/disciple 2–3 individuals quarterly, developing leaders and providing pastoral care.
- Support group leaders and ministry coaches through pastoral care, coaching, training, and communication.
- Recruit and train new leaders and coaches across all Community Life ministries.
- Co‑lead the monthly Crossroads Connect assimilation event with the Connections Director.
- Guide guests and attenders into groups, serving opportunities, and community life.
- Follow up intentionally with Crossroads Connect attenders to help them take next steps.
- Provide pastoral duties including weddings, funerals, counseling, preaching/teaching, and general pastoral care.
- Provide leadership presence at church‑wide events such as Crossroads Night Out, Crossroads Night In, Volunteer Appreciation, and Baptisms.
- Support the Lead Pastor with additional ministry responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records, rosters, and next‑steps processes.

- Bachelor’s degree required (ministry‑related major preferred);
Seminary degree is a strong bonus. - Minimum 5 years of ministry experience. Discipleship, group leadership, or pastoral care preferred. Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and develop leaders required.
- Full agreement with the Crossroads Church doctrinal statement.
Full‑time position
· 40 hours per week (average)
