Adjunct Faculty: Administration & Management in Sport

Loras College invites applications for an adjunct faculty position beginning August 2026 to teach CLD 535 Administration & Management in Sport in Fall 2026 semester. This course is exclusively online, asynchronous, and is part of the required curriculum for our Master's in Coaching Leadership program.

• Teach assigned course as specified in the schedule and course contract.
• Participate in orientation to become familiar with the College's mission, academic policies and procedures, expectations, and Learning Management System, eLearn (Moodle).
• Clearly communicate course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, assignments and deadlines.
• Employ a variety of teaching styles to effectively deliver course content demonstrating both academic and real-world applications of concepts covered.
• Encourage active learning through discussion topics, class assignments, group projects, etc.
• Provide feedback and grade assignments to students in a timely and thorough manner (within 24-48 hrs.).
• Outreach to students who are not attending synchronous class times, submitting assignments, or showing other evidence of active engagement in the class.
• Report early alerts for students who are not actively engaging in the course through Watermark.
• Establish virtual office hours to provide additional assistance with student questions/concerns.
• Ability to legally work in the United States. Applicants who require sponsorship will not be considered.

• A minimum of a Ph.D. in Sport Management, Business Administration or a related field is required.
• Student-centered approach and passion for teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
• Ability to use the Learning Management System effectively to teach, assess and communicate with students.

  D. in related fields will be preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching is preferred.
• Coaching experience, and experience with teaching online or in a hybrid format preferred.
• Experience with assessment of student learning.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with integrating instructional technology into classroom experiences.

• Commitment to the College's mission and support for the Catholic liberal arts tradition.
• Ability to carry out responsibilities of the position in support of the College's Catholic identity and mission and in support of Church teachings.
• Effectiveness and excellence in teaching.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and communicate developments in the field to students and other constituencies.
