Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Engineer, Crawler Sheet metal for John Deere Construction & Forestry located in Dubuque, IA
, you will:
- Develop and evaluate design solutions for new Product Development Programs that meet machine performance goals, component life goals, cost targets, and schedules
- Collaborate with other functional areas, including supply management, manufacturing, marketing, product support, product verification and validation, and quality to meet program needs, including working with suppliers as applicable.
- Support physical builds, PV&V activities, and production launches by diagnosing and resolving issues and implementing design updates to ensure production readiness.
- Support Integrated Systems Development Process (ISDP) projects aligned to future Crawler portfolio needs.
- Contribute to product design guidelines, design books, DTW's, and engineering analysis procedures.
- 2 or more years of engineering experience such as product design, product analysis, or product testing
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical data, evaluate alternatives, and make data-driven decisions to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within cross-functional and diverse teams.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools, such as Creo and Solid Works.
- Demonstrated experience managing several projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity / interest in construction or agricultural equipment operation.
- Experience with metal fabrication and materials
- Experience with engineering workflow tools such as PDMLink and SAP.
- Cross-functional experience with PV&V, performance evaluation, software, and/or manufacturing teams.
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and contract engineering firms.
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Agricultural, Aerospace or equivalent related work experience. Others may apply.
