Location:

Dubuque, IA - 52001 Duration: 12 Months (possible extension) 1st Shift: 6 - 2:30 PM, OT hours needed if requested, metatarsal safety boots are required on their first day

Job Description:

  • As a Manufacturing Engineer II located in Dubuque, IA, you will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work supporting machining, sheet metal, and tool design processes.
  • You will work in a team environment to develop and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and engineering solutions that meet established safety, quality, cost, and project requirements.
  • Analyze manufacturing information and define the methods, process steps, machinery, tooling, and equipment needed to support production.
  • Design and continuously improve manufacturing processes and systems to achieve cost and quality objectives.
  • Develop engineering solutions and coordinate feasibility testing to support solution development and validation.
  • Support the development, application, and evaluation of engineering standards and specifications.
  • Inspect engineering work, equipment, installations, or structures and recommend corrective actions needed to meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures and implement improvements through established change management processes.
  • Coordinate activities with suppliers, subcontractors, and other external resources in accordance with established project and contract management plans.
  • Support product development and engineering activities by analyzing customer needs and delivering appropriate manufacturing solutions.
  • Manage assigned engineering activities within established project plans, schedules, and goals.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to help others effectively use engineering and knowledge management systems.

Skill Set Requirements:

  • Manufacturing engineering experience involving machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, equipment, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to develop, implement, test, and improve engineering designs and manufacturing solutions.
  • Experience preparing and applying technical engineering specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex or conflicting information.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage work within an established project schedule.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with different audiences.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and remain accountable for commitments.
  • Knowledge of safe work systems, applicable policies, regulations, and risk-management practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production teams, suppliers, contractors, and other engineering functions.

  • Ability to provide technical guidance and build alignment among stakeholders with different priorities.

Education:

  • Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in one of the following:
    Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Equivalent manufacturing engineering education, training, and relevant professional experience.
