Game Day Production Staff (Camera & Replay Operators)
The Game Day Production Staff play an integral role in delivering a first-class entertainment experience for Fighting Saints fans. Production staff are responsible for capturing and producing live video content that enhances the in-arena atmosphere through fan interactions, sponsorship activations, player features, instant replay, and game presentation. Individuals may serve as a Camera Operator, Replay Operator, or both, depending on experience and event needs.
EssentialResponsibilities
Camera Operator
- Operate assigned broadcast or in-house production camera during all home games and special events.
- Capture live game action, fan interactions, sponsor promotions, and entertainment features.
- Follow direction from the Producer/Director throughout the event.
- Frame shots professionally while maintaining smooth camera movement.
- Capture crowd shots, mascot interactions, contests, ceremonies, and player introductions.
- Be prepared for quick transitions during live play.
- Assist with camera setup, teardown, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain awareness of game flow and production timing.
Replay Operator
- Operate replay software during live games.
- Capture and cue instant replays of game action.
- Coordinate replay timing with the Producer and Technical Director.
- Ensure replays are accurate, timely, and appropriate for in-arena presentation.
- Archive highlight clips for future use.
- Assist with sponsored replay elements.
- Maintain replay equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
Arrive on time for all scheduled call times. Participate in pregame production meetings. Communicate effectively using headset communications. Follow all production timelines and game scripts. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude. Represent the organization in a professional manner. Assist with additional production duties as assigned. Help create an exciting, energetic, and engaging fan experience.
QualificationsInterest in sports broadcasting, live event production, or media production. Experience operating cameras or replay systems preferred but not required. Ability to learn live production workflows. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live-event environment. Strong communication skills. Ability to take direction quickly. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays during the hockey season.

Camera operation, live sports production, replay operation, video composition, knowledge of hockey, basic troubleshooting, team-oriented mindset, strong situational awareness.
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to climb stairs and access production locations. Ability to work in varying arena temperatures.
Performance ExpectationsSuccessful Game Day Production Staff members will:
Deliver professional, broadcast-quality camera work. Execute timely and accurate replays. Follow production direction effectively. Communicate clearly with the production team. Contribute to a seamless, high-energy game presentation. Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to enhancing the fan experience.
Approximately 30–35 home games per season, plus playoffs and select special events. Typical shifts range from 3-5 hours, including setup, event execution, and postgame teardown. This role is ideal for students, aspiring broadcasters, videographers, and media professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in live sports production while contributing to an exciting USHL game-day atmosphere.
