Medical Associates Clinic & Health Plans is seeking an Underwriting & Financial Analyst to join their team!
The RoleUnderwrite prospective and renewal business, perform pricing of insurance products. Create and analyze reports needed for the Health Plan and Clinic decision‑making. Ensure regulatory compliance by performing internal audits for Health Plan departments.

ScheduleFull‑time, Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. This position offers the opportunity for hybrid work once fully trained.

Essential skills include financial or mathematics background, proficiency in Microsoft products, especially Excel.
Ideal candidates will have experience with advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, and an auditing background.
Bonus skills include experience with SQL, medical/clinic, audits, and/or insurance background.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document the process for internal Medicare audits in order to ensure company‑wide compliance.
- Utilize established medical underwriting practices to evaluate risk and rate calculations of all prospective rate proposals and renewals on a regular basis.
- Prepare established monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Perform stop‑loss marketing, including but not limited to: creation of necessary reports, submission of data and quote request to carriers, recap market search and create quote spreadsheets. Review stop‑loss policies and applications for accuracy against quoted terms. Work with account executives and directors as necessary to provide information about quotes and stop‑loss.
- Prepare for year‑end financial and compliance audits by contracted auditors and state regulators.
- Complete all other assigned projects and duties as assigned.
Experience:
One to three years of similar or related experience.
Education:
Equivalent to a 4‑year/Bachelor's degree (finance or math preferred).

Skills:

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
