Overview

Housekeeper/EVS Dubuque PT Evenings – Mercy One. Part‑time evening shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm) every other weekend and holiday rotation.

• Clean patient rooms and discharge units to meet hospital standards. Empties trash and linen containers, high dusts, damp mops, cleans bathroom, cleans/makes bed, damp wipes all horizontal surfaces including clean over‑bed table, and checks own work.
• Maintain clean office/ancillary areas. Audits are done frequently for Quality Control.
• Perform special isolation cleaning according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean cart, equipment, and janitor closet/storage areas.
• Replenish supplies of soap, tissues, towels, disposable items and other items as needed.
• Report the need for repair of equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures to appropriate person.

• Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred. Experience with hospital standards/processes desired but not mandatory.
• Able to become familiar with use and care of housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
• Must work with and accept varying demands of patients, public, and other employees.
• Communicate effectively and work harmoniously with all members of the health care team.
• Interact with hospital staff, patients and public contacts in a cordial, courteous, and helpful manner. Exercise tact and diplomacy.

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Annual salary range: $40,000.00 – $70,000.00. Competitive compensation with a full benefits package and opportunities for growth within the Mercy One Health System.
