Hartig Drug is seeking a motivated and team oriented to fill a full time Billing Specialist in Dubuque, IA. This position is responsible for the financial accountability for long term care patients, facilities, third party insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.
Essential Job Functions- Responsible for billing for patients, long term facilities, third party insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and Hospice
- Reconciliation and adjudicate all claims and accounts
- Responsible for posting payments
- Verify insurance coverage for patients
- Prepare patient refunds
- Update medication lists for Hospice patients
- Process updates for patient changes
- Review census reports from facilities
- Provide professional and courteous communication to patients
- Other duties as assigned
- Works well in a team environment
- Portrays the company in a positive image
- Required to abide by all rules, regulations and policies of the employer
Full time position, approximately 40 hours weekly, non-exempt. Monday through Friday
Non‑essential Job Functions- Assist with other departments as needed
- Pharmacy or medical billing experience preferred, Certified Pharmacy Technician is a plus
- Must have two‑year degree in accounting or comparable work experience
- Must be detail oriented and precise
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills
