Previous sales or customer service experience is a strong plus — especially if you enjoy helping people make informed decisions. However, we hire for attitude and potential first. You’ll develop technical healthcare knowledge, communication skills, and certification credentials that increase your professional value.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, covering hours between 8:00am and 5:00pm, working 80 hours per pay period.

Location: Medical Associates West Campus. This role may be asked to provide occasional coverage at other locations.

What You’ll be Doing:
- Influence patients with the selecting eyewear to encourage sales. Adjust eye wear to patient and make any necessary repairs using appropriate tools. Instruct patient on cleaning and handling.
- Interpret prescription and help patients choose appropriate eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as appropriate.
- Supplement office staff as reception tasks permit by assisting with photocopying, computer input/typing, and enter payments/charges into computer opticianry.
- Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
- Greet customers in person and via telephone in polite, prompt, helpful manner. Provide any necessary instructions/directions and inform appropriate department/person of persons arrival.
- Maintain clean, orderly waiting area including beverage area and reading materials.
- Update patient information, collect copays, provide any necessary forms needing completion, and obtain signatures as necessary.
- Complete necessary paperwork such as encounter forms and parking validations. Use computer system to generate information necessary for billing.

Experience:
One to three years of similar or related experience.
Education:
Equivalent to a high school education.

Skills:
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Other
Skills:
Must have current certification by American Board of Opticianry or be willing to obtain certification.
