The Hospitality Sales Manager is responsible for generating and growing group, event, catering, and hotel business for Q Casino + Resort, including the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Dubuque and The Key Hotel.
This position will actively prospect for new business, develop relationships with corporate, association, sports, leisure, wedding, and social clients, and manage the sales process from initial inquiry through event completion.
The Hospitality Sales Manager will work closely with Director of Hospitality, Hotel Operations, Food & Beverage, Marketing, Casino Operations, and other departments to maximize revenue, increase hotel occupancy, and create exceptional guest experiences.
This is a revenue-generating sales position with an incentive-based compensation structure, providing significant earning potential for strong performance.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to:
Director of Hospitality Sales
- Develop and execute a proactive sales plan to achieve annual revenue goals.
- Identify and pursue new corporate, association, sports, leisure, wedding, and social accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and repeat customers.
- Conduct outside sales calls, client visits, presentations, tours, networking, and community outreach.
- Respond to inquiries and convert qualified leads into definite business.
- Build a healthy sales pipeline and consistently prospect for new opportunities.
- Promote the full Q Casino + Resort experience, including hotel accommodations, meeting space, events, catering, casino amenities, entertainment, and Island Social.
- Sell and coordinate group meetings, banquets, weddings, social events, corporate events, sports groups, and other hospitality business.
- Develop proposals, contracts, and event details in accordance with company standards.
- Maximize revenue through upselling, room blocks, catering, meeting space, and additional amenities.
- Ensure accurate communication of event details to operational departments.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and booking information in required systems.
- Generate group room nights for both hotel properties.
- Identify opportunities to package hotel accommodations with meetings, events, entertainment, and casino offerings.
- Develop relationships with sports teams, corporate accounts, tour operators, and other room-night producing groups.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients before, during, and after their events.
- Conduct post-event follow-up and solicit repeat and referral business.
- Resolve sales-related concerns quickly and professionally.
- Represent Q Casino + Resort at community, tourism, hospitality, and industry events.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Hospitality and Hospitality Sales Coordinator
- Share market intelligence, leads, account opportunities, and best practices.
- Assist with sales strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and departmental initiatives.
- Support a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, service, and revenue growth.
