Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials and Purchasing Coordinator to support purchasing operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating outside contracts, processing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring inventory, and ensuring materials are available to support production.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage local outside contracts and assist with contract renewals and bid processes.
- Create, process, and maintain purchase orders within the ERP system.
- Verify purchase requests, pricing, specifications, and supplier information.
- Work with suppliers to obtain pricing, delivery schedules, and product specifications.
- Track orders, resolve delivery issues, and correct purchase order discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Accounting to resolve invoice and purchase order issues.
- Maintain supplier documentation to ensure compliance with company requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to prevent production interruptions.
- Receive and verify purchased materials and enter receipts into the ERP system.
- Evaluate raw materials, skins, and packaging materials.
- Assist with raw material and packaging inspections.
- Meet with current and prospective suppliers.
- Provide backup support for administrative office functions as needed.
Required:
- At least 1 year of related purchasing or administrative experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to build positive relationships with vendors and internal departments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting quality and food safety standards.
