Maintenance Tech - Night Shift

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Repair, replace, correct, or adjust equipment as needed to ensure it operates correctly and efficiently according to production requirements.
• Consult with engineers and vendors as needed; perform layout work for projects and troubleshoot equipment.
• Meet safety requirements and comply with all applicable policies and regulations related to safety, environment, vehicle handling of food products, packaging, and ingredients.
• Participate as a member of the team; support development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members; attend team meetings; foster cohesiveness and identify areas needing attention with the team leader to resolve issues.
• Understand Simmons operating system principles and objectives (quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and contribute to maintaining these systems and communicating concerns and improvement ideas.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives; this description is not intended to limit the work that may be required.

• Enter and locate information on a computer; visually verify information, often in small print.
• Must be able to manually lift or move objects weighing 75–150 pounds.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, on feet for the entire shift, in cramped, enclosed, elevated, wet, dirty areas with noise levels above 90 decibels.

Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required.

• Experience or vocational training in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, and refrigeration or hydraulics.

• Preference for poultry or food processing organizations.

• Minimum Education:
  
  Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Preferred Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Communication skills and decision quality: ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and the leadership team.
