Job DescriptionThe Palletizer, Bagger, Entry Level Equipment Operator plays a key role in operating and maintaining high‑speed manufacturing equipment that produces metal cans and ends at our Dubuque, Iowa facility. In this role you will report to manufacturing floor supervision and manage day‑to‑day machine operations, quality checks, and maintenance tasks.
- Operate the automatic can palletizer, inserting separator sheets, placing top frames, and managing mechanical feeds.
- Sort and inspect cans, print pallet tickets, and conduct quality checks.
- Keep work area clean and organized; perform minor tasks as directed.
- Support line maintainers in operating production lines and prepare, load, and feed metal coils.
- Remove jams and perform visual inspections of finished cans and ends for defects.
- Assist with removing metal dies, lubrication, re‑aligning cans, and operating bulk packing machinery.
- Replace and re‑align cans as needed; load/unload various size cans onto pallets.
- Remove old and apply correct tags, maintaining numeric sequence on pallets.
- Observe and practice company safety rules and SOPs at all times.
- Maintain product flow and communicate equipment, production, and schedule changes across departments and shifts.
- Collaborate with teammates to identify solutions and implement fixes for machinery and equipment problems.
- Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent.
- One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Vocational or technical certification.
- Experience in high‑speed packaging industry.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative and strategic thinking to solve problems.
- Excellent time‑management and project‑management skills with multitasking ability.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven math and computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May lift or move up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Close, distance, and color vision required.
- Ability to adjust focus.
- Work primarily in a plant environment, occasionally moving to other parts of the floor.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
- Exposure to a wide range of temperatures.
- Frequent loud noise levels.
