CNC Programmer

This role focuses on programming CNC machines to support precision manufacturing operations. You will develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs to ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality machining across lathes, mills, and multi-axis equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Program CNC machines for production, including lathes, mills, and multi-axis equipment.
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using g-code to achieve precise machining results.
  • Use Mastercam to develop toolpaths and machining strategies for various components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing requirements to translate them into CNC programs.
  • Collaborate with machining and production teams to ensure programs meet quality and efficiency standards.
  • Troubleshoot and refine existing CNC programs to improve cycle times and part quality.
  • Support setup and operation by providing clear, accurate program documentation.
  • Ensure CNC programming adheres to manufacturing best practices and safety standards.
  • Assist with program verification and inspection processes, including use of CMM when needed.
Essential

Skills:
  • At least 6 months of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in writing and modifying g-code for CNC machines.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC lathes and CNC mills.
  • Ability to program using Mastercam or similar CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and techniques.
  • Ability to work with multi-axis CNC equipment.
  • Basic familiarity with CMM (coordinate measuring machine) and inspection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
Additional Skills &

Qualifications:
  • Experience optimizing CNC programs for cycle time and tool life.
  • Comfort working with various CNC controls and machine brands.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machining and programming issues.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with machinists, engineers, and production staff.

Work Environment:

This is a first-shift position in a manufacturing facility that uses CNC lathes, CNC mills, multi-axis machines, and related inspection equipment such as CMM. You will work in a shop-floor environment around active machining operations, computers running Mastercam and CNC control interfaces. The schedule follows a standard daytime shift, providing consistent hours and routine. Typical attire is appropriate industrial or shop-floor clothing suitable for a machining environment, with required safety gear as applicable.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $41.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
