The role involves working in a maternity unit focusing on labor and delivery. You will be responsible for providing care to antepartum, maternal, newborn, and obstetric patients. The unit has a bed capacity of 16 maternity beds, 12 nursery beds, and 4 NICU beds. You will be expected to manage a patient ratio of 1:1 during labor, 1:2 during postpartum care, and 2:1 in the NICU.
Experience in administering medications such as glucose, magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin is essential. Delivery volume is approximately 50-60 births per month. Candidates may have to work during holiday periods, particularly in the summer. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care. Active participation in monitoring fetal conditions and neonatal care is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
