As a Nurse Assistant at Mercy One, the Nurse Assistant (NA) is a member of the Mercy One Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Center healthcare team and is under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse. NAs provide holistic, compassionate, individualized, and effective patient care by assisting the patient with activities of daily living. Nurse Assistant (NA) also provides other physical, emotional, and spiritual needs consistent with the Mission of Mercy One, Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence‑based standards of care, and established policies and procedures.

• PRN (As needed). Hours and shifts may vary!

• Must be at least 16 years of age; child labor laws apply to minors under 18 and some areas may require 18.
• Must meet at least one of the following requirements:
  • Be active on the Iowa registry (required for long‑term care nurse assistants in Iowa, and for nurse assistants who work in Illinois or Wisconsin).
  • Show proof of completion of a 75‑hour CNA course.
  • Show proof of EMT certification.
  • Show proof of formally holding and completing training for a medical occupation specialty from the military (current or former).
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Child and dependent adult abuse mandatory reporter training required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.

• Must be at least 16 years of age; child labor laws apply to minors under 18 and some areas may require 18.
• Certification in a 75‑hour CNA program required and must be active on the Iowa registry (required for long‑term care nurse assistants in Iowa).
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Child and dependent adult abuse mandatory reporter training required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
