Essential Position Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality of the product is up to customer standards, including product weights to be monitored and recorded
- Check color, odor and texture
- Check seal integrity and perform burst testing
- Verify product code, fill temperature, and conduct quality checks
- Complete tear downs for each seamer head on the running seamer
- Notify supervisor of any out-of-specification measurements after recheck is confirmed and fill out required documentation
- Record information on the Quality log sheets and input all data in the Quality control computer at the QC station for further review
Participates as a member of the team, attends appropriate team meetings, and fosters strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes. Identifies and brings to the team leader any areas lacking cohesiveness, working collaboratively to resolve issues and promote synergy within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating Systems Principles and ObjectivesIs familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems. Recognizes the impact of individual actions on the systems and communicates concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical ActivitiesThe employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk during the performance of this job.

Technical ExperienceExperienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
Industry ExperienceBackground in manufacturing.
Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred EducationSome college and/or technical school.
