General Manager – VP of Sales and Operations

Stu’s Home Improvement Outlet is not traditional retail. We are a high-volume, fast-moving outlet specializing in appliances, furniture, flooring, and home improvement products — and we are growing fast. Our mission is simple: move inventory, create urgency, serve customers well, and reinvest in our community.
We are seeking a hands-on General Manager to run day-to-day operations, lead sales performance, and execute marketing initiatives that drive traffic and revenue. This role exists so the owner can step out of daily operations — and it comes with real authority and real accountability.
Responsibilities- Lead the Store – Own daily store operations and performance
- Be present on the sales floor — this is not a desk job
- Set expectations, hold accountability, and build a winning culture
- Schedule, coach, and manage a sales team focused on closing
- Drive Sales Performance – Coach sales staff on closing techniques, customer follow-up, upselling and attachments, and stepping in to help close higher-value sales when needed
- Track and improve KPIs such as revenue, average ticket, and close rate
- Execute Marketing That Drives Traffic – Execute campaigns across Facebook & Marketplace, Google, Radio / Billboard coordination
- Ensure promotions are clear, timely, accurate, and reflected in-store with signage and pricing urgency
- Work with ownership on campaign planning — then own execution
- Inventory & Merchandising Oversight – Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, priced correctly, and sell-ready
- Manage inventory aging and pricing urgency;
Coordinate with warehouse and receiving teams - Own the Numbers – Hit revenue and margin targets, control labor costs, track inventory turns, and report weekly performance metrics to ownership
Required Experience
- Retail management or store leadership experience
- Strong sales background (appliances, furniture, flooring, automotive, or big-ticket retail preferred)
- Proven ability to coach people and drive results
- Comfortable executing marketing — not just talking about it

- Base Salary: $100,000 + (based on experience)
- Performance Bonus:
Up to $25,000 annually (paid quarterly) - Long-Term Incentive:
