Position Summary

As a Tire & Battery Center Technician you will provide safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department, delivering to members more of what they love, for less. You will collaborate with other associates to meet the club’s expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill sales and service requests, educate associates on tools, tasks and resources, and mentor new technicians; communicate and develop interpersonal skills for safe and efficient customer service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS and PSI, product specifications and seasonality, point‑of‑sale systems, phone and in‑person selling techniques.
  • Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the service experience, elevate associate engagement, and use handheld technology and systems to make immediate business decisions related to services, safety alerts, new product information, product application and training—adapt to new tools and encourage others.
  • Communicate equipment, tool and supply needs to the TBC Lead, track and monitor returns and special orders, operate cash registers and process transactions, maintain accurate inventory, audit safety and compliance standards, report TBC complaints, safety hazards and product/service/work‑area problems, complete logs and required documents, ensure merchandise is packaged, labeled, and stored according to company policies, assist members with purchasing decisions, and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Advocate as a brand ambassador, value the members’ experience, model high‑quality service and products, influence and inspire teamwork, understand roadblocks, and contribute to training team members.
  • Implement company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity; apply action plans using the Open Door Policy and execute business processes accordingly.
  • Prioritize work assignments and priorities using policies, data and resources; collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers and partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicate progress, recommend improvements, and adapt to change.
  • Create a workplace of belonging that embraces differences in people, cultures, ideas and experiences; help associates thrive, perform and attract talent.
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity, ethics and compliance, model Walmart values, hold oneself and others accountable, and support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly wage range: $21.00 to $29.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation may include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season or specific work performed.

Live Better U is a company‑paid education benefit program for full‑time and part‑time associates, covering high‑school completion, bachelor’s degrees, English language learning, and short‑form certificates. Tuition, books and fees are paid entirely by Walmart.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Successfully complete all required job training and assessments within the prescribed period.
