- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting care and patience in all customer interactions; greet customers in the store and in the department.
- Learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible.
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, and noting customer suggestions or requests.
- Answer the telephone promptly with friendly, helpful service, including taking customer orders.
- Take customer orders at the Chinese Express counter.
- Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Review orders for the day; ensure proper sanitation procedures; maintain a clean, neat work area.
- Review the status and appearance of food for freshness; ensure adequate supplies and follow a production list; anticipate department needs daily.
- Prepare, finish, and replenish products as necessary; pull product from cooler/freezer for preparation; check in and put away product.
- Remove trash in a timely manner and adhere to company policies and store guidelines.
- Wash dishes as necessary.
- Order product and supplies as necessary.
- Price product for customers as necessary.
- Deliver orders as needed; assist in other areas of the store as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to follow detailed but simple written or verbal instructions and deal with concrete variables.
- Basic arithmetic; ability to copy figures, count, and record data.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.
High school or equivalent experience with Food Safety Certification and six months or more of similar or related experience.
Physical RequirementsMust be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Vision requirements include close to far distances, depth perception, and field of vision. Activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
WorkingConditions
Continuously exposed to raw fish, flour, dust, noise, and temperature extremes. Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals/solvents. Fast-paced work environment with significant pressure.
Equipment UsedScale, shrink wrap machine, Telexon re-ordering machine, walk-in cooler, knives and serving cases.
ContactsHas daily contact with internal customers and the general public. Has weekly contact with suppliers/vendors. Has contact with Federal/State governmental or regulatory agencies as necessary.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
