Job Overview
The ideal Supply Chain Asset Protection Assistant Manager is skilled in time management, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while adhering to the highest ethical standards.
Responsibilities- Provide Asset Protection and Safety leadership and support in the assigned Distribution Center.
- Act as a key partner in driving a culture of Asset Protection and safety, including access control, key control, alarm protocols, and training programs through orientations, safety meetings, inspections, and operational partnerships.
- Respond to and report all building security and emergency situations, including administering first aid and escorting hostile individuals from the building.
- Lead investigations of Theft, Fraud, Workplace Violence, and Critical Incidents; ensure compliance with security, asset protection, and risk processes.
- Maintain proactive communication with all layers of Operational Management regarding asset protection, safety, and physical security matters.
- Serve as the department’s liaison and security subject‑matter expert for facility management, keeping them abreast of key issues, trainings, strategies, and performance.
- Own recruiting, hiring, and training of AP Coordinators to ensure technical and professional development.
- Manage and develop an efficient and effective AP team through performance feedback, goal‑setting, and development plans.
- Review and approve all reports to ensure incidents and cases are properly logged.
- Take ownership of training and execution of electronic walk‑through and hand‑held metal detectors.
- Assume responsibility for the internal investigations program, ensuring timely identification and resolution of internal loss situations.
- Train operations building managers on opening and closing procedures.
- Provide recommendations and coordinate implementation of policies to ensure integrity of supply chain operations and Asset Protection and Safety programs.
- Maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and personnel issues.
- Manage complexities of a 24/7 operating building to meet all Asset Protection, Safety, and Security standards.
- Support truck yard management process training and documentation.
- Perform special projects as directed by the Senior Manager.
- Contribute to the Supply Chain network priorities of Safety, Team, and Results.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or demonstrated experience required.
- 2‑3 years of experience in security service, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with MS Office Professional Suite, including Excel.
- Workplace Violence and/or Business Continuity experience.
- Experience with warehouse or distribution center services preferred.
- Proven success in investigations, asset protection and security procedures.
- Experience conducting internal or external interviews.
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with employees and leaders.
- Strong organizational, delegation, and follow‑through skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Computer proficiency, including monitoring and surveillance technologies.
- Knowledge of APIS and X (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm demeanor when dealing with safety and security issues; ability to respond and resolve incidents effectively.
- Proven experience indicating high accountability, initiative, and ownership.
Pay range: $45,000.00 – $74,000.00 annual.
