We operate across sourcing, logistics, processing, and inventory management, working closely with suppliers, warehouses, and customers throughout the steel supply chain. Ferrosource is seeking a Junior Accounting & Finance Analyst to join our team in New York City, with a primary focus on accounts receivable, audit support, and financial reporting. This role involves working with high volumes of transactional data, supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations, and ensuring accuracy across customer accounts and internal reporting.

This position is fully in-office (5 days per week).

• Process and apply accounts receivable payments, including wires, ACH, and checks
• Monitor and review A/R aging and follow up on outstanding balances
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, short pays, and unapplied cash
• Assist with customer account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of receivable balances
• Support audit requests by gathering invoices, shipping documentation, and supporting schedules
• Assist with internal reporting, including compiling and reviewing transactional data
• Help ensure transactions are accurately recorded and aligned with underlying operational activity
• Assist with month‑end close activities related to A/R and reporting
• Maintain organized documentation for customer invoices, payments, and supporting records
• Communicate with customers, operations teams, and internal stakeholders regarding discrepancies and open items
• Assist with ad‑hoc reporting as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or near completion)
• 0‑3 years previous experience in accounts receivable, audit, cost accounting, or general accounting
• Exposure to financial reporting or reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high‑volume transactional data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work full‑time in an in‑office environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Exposure to supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or inventory‑based businesses
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems

You are detail‑oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with large volumes of data. You take ownership of your work, follow through on open items, and are willing to dig into discrepancies to understand what’s driving them. You are interested in how accounting connects to day‑to‑day operations and are eager to learn in a fast‑moving environment.
