Administer all federal, state and institutional policies and procedures relating to the Student Accounts Office. Specific areas of responsibility will include withdrawal processing and management of Student Health Insurance Program. Provide counseling and guidance to students, parents, and faculty related to student accounts policies and procedures. Assist with webpage and portal content maintenance. This is a 12-month full-time position with benefits.
Knowledge,Skills and Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years’ experience in student accounts or student financial services.
- Experience in higher education accounts receivable management preferred.
- Superb organizational skills and attention to detail are mandatory.
- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Must be capable of working independently as well as working in conjunction with others (including staff from Financial Aid and Business Operations) to foster a team-oriented environment.
- Initiative, problem solving capabilities and persistence required.
- Colleague and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
- The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic to learn and grow in this role and willing to gradually take on more responsibility.
- Comply with all institutional, state and federal policies, guidelines and regulations.
- Assist with the management and administration of the Ellucian Colleague system and all related third-party systems for processes related to student billing. This includes tuition, fees, residence halls, and meal plans.
- Manage the student health insurance and refund insurance program.
- Monitor accounts of Day division students and handle part time adjustments, etc.
- Process billing adjustments for study abroad programs, internships, and other programs as needed.
- Monitor accounts of Graduates; maintain tracking, audit account, refund if applicable, and review for release of diplomas.
- Tuition Deposits – allocate, refund, forfeit, as needed.
- Assist with the administration of the CBORD program for Bison Bucks, book vouchers, and student or employee meal plans.
- Process midterm withdrawal & leave of absences giving counsel to students about the financial impact of a withdrawal and verifying all charges and financial aid have been pro-rated according to institutional, state and federal guidelines.
- Process refund payments due to student withdrawals, over payment, etc.
- Process various charges through the import/manual process.
- Process the initial collection efforts for all past due college charges and assignment of receivables to the in-house collections department.
- Establish policies and procedures to ensure positive, effective and open relationships with all clients of the Student Accounts Office including students, parents, faculty and administrators.
- Attend college functions as needed.
- Back up to the Student Accounts Associate job duties.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.
- Light to moderate lifting of files, supplies, boxes of literature and office materials.
- Able to use office and telecommunications equipment.
- Walking is required, traveling may be expected at times.
- Ability to communicate in writing and orally.
