Aboutthe Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support financial and cost management operations across the company’s real estate development and construction projects.
This role is responsible for tracking project costs, monitoring budgets, analyzing variances, and ensuring accurate cost allocation throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate has experience in real estate or construction industry cost accounting and is familiar with project-based financial operations.
Key Responsibilities Cost Accounting & Project Tracking- Track and monitor project costs related to construction, development, materials, labor, and vendor expenses.
- Maintain accurate cost records and ensure proper cost allocation across projects.
- Analyze project cost variances and provide regular reporting to management.
- Assist in preparing project budgets and cost forecasts.
- Prepare cost reports, budget analysis, and financial summaries for management review.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to project accounting.
- Monitor project spending and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in maintaining project profitability and financial efficiency.
- Review invoices, purchase orders, and payment applications related to construction and development projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, procurement teams, and project managers regarding cost-related matters.
- Support contract tracking and payment schedule monitoring.
- Ensure financial documentation is complete and properly maintained.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting procedures.
- Assist with audits, tax preparation, and financial documentation requests.
- Support improvements in cost control systems and accounting workflows.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of financial information.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–5 years of cost accounting experience in real estate, construction, or related industries.
- Experience with project-based accounting and cost tracking required.
- Strong understanding of construction or development cost structures preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Bilingual in Mandarin and English preferred.
