Servello CPA is seeking an experienced Tax Consultant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a tax professional with 2-4 years of hands-on experience preparing individual and fiduciary tax returns who is ready to take on additional responsibility, including reviewing intern-prepared returns and assisting with individual tax projections.
The Tax Consultant will work closely with our CPA and tax team while managing multiple client engagements and contributing to the development of our intern team members.
Responsibilities- Prepare complex federal and state income tax returns (Form 1040, 1041, 709)
- Review Form 1040 and Form 1041 returns prepared by tax interns for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide feedback and guidance to interns regarding return preparation and workpaper quality.
- Prepare individual tax projections and quarterly estimated tax calculations.
- Review and organize client tax documents and identify missing or incomplete information.
- Prepare supporting work papers and schedules.
- Research tax issues related to individual, estate, and trust taxation as needed.
- Communicate with clients and team members regarding tax information and outstanding items.
- Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines throughout the year.
- Maintain accurate and organized client files and documentation.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development.
- Assist with firm projects and process improvements during the off-season.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 2-4 years of professional experience preparing Form 1040 and Form 1041 tax returns.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to self-review work before submitting it for additional review.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide constructive guidance to interns and less-experienced team members.
- Experience with professional tax preparation software preferred.
- CPA license or progress toward CPA eligibility is a plus.
